Trex Decking Post Skirt and Titan Post Anchor

by Amber

We are planning to install the composite wood decking made by Trex. Will the Titan post anchors work with the Trex post skirts? We weren't sure if the anchor would stick out too far from underneath the post where the collar we got to cover the anchor will not fit?? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Angled Post Skirt to Cover Shims Under Titan Connector
by: Anonymous

I have included a ramp in my deck design. Does anyone know of an angled post skirt that will match Trex Saddle color and fit over the Trex 4x4 sleeve and over the 4x4 Titan connector on an angel? I had to shim of the post to make it level.

Depends on the type of post skirt
by: Editor - Rich Bergman

Trex makes two types of post skirts. One is to be used with their solid 4x4 posts. We have people who have sent in pictures showing that when used with the solid post the skirt fit over the base of the anchor but does not sit flush with the decking. The pictures show a small 1/8" gap.

The other skirt made by Trex is intended to be used with regular 4x4 wood posts and their post sleeve which slides over the post. The outside dimensions of the post sleeve are about 4.5"x4.5" so the opening in the skirt is the same. As a result there is more room underneath and the post skirt sits flat on the deck surface nicely.

So it depends on which Trex skirt you are referring to.
