Titan Post Anchors - Support Posts

Will the post anchor for a 6"x6'x10'wood post on a concrete slab be strong enough to hold post in place. I am building a roof over the patio and tieing it into existing roof line.

6x6 Post Anchor for 10' Post
by: Editor - Rich Bergman

The 6x6 anchor will definitely be strong enough to support a 10" post on a concrete slab. It is made of 1/8" steel, hot dip galvanized and then powder coated. The new models have a tube that extends deeper below the top surface of the anchor to just make contact with the concrete.

So under extreme load there is no flex because the base is supported along the perimeter edge of the anchor and by the edge of the tube in the center.

If the post is not a support post and simply a free standing post the anchor will not provide much stiffness over 10". Frankly I don't know what would at that height. You will have to tie it in to the roof line or structure above as you suggest.
