Under Porch Cover Options

by Sheila

I have a wrap-around porch on the front of my house leaving a 3' opening underneath that I would like to hide. Any suggestions other than lattice?

I have planted shrubs etc but it will be a few years before it is filled in.

Lattice Under a Porch
by: Editor - Rich Bergman

Lattice is very common under a porch because it provides a physical barrier that can prevent animals from making a home underneath and also can provide a place for storage and still look nice.

Shrubs will look nice when they grow in but will require regular trimmings to prevent them from growing completely under the porch over time. This could cause problems later on if you are not careful.

Other than lattice you could build other types of barriers that have a different pattern than the typical diamond shape of lattice.
